As the son of a well-known cartoon illustrator, there was never any doubt that Ben would pursue a creative career. Ben always knew he wanted to be a radio presenter, so knocked on the door of his local radio station when he was just 16. In 2007, Ben was an occasional cover presenter, so without a full-time gig, took the opportunity to travel the world.

Whilst abroad he was offered his first full-time job as a radio presenter and returned later that year to step in front of the mic. He was swiftly snapped up by a larger station, Jack FM and after hosting breakfast on the station for just a year, he was subsequently talent spotted by Global and went on to anchor the Heart Breakfast Show in Wiltshire for over five years.

In 2020, Ben was handed the biggest show of his career to date with Heart and he now broadcasts to more than 400k listeners every week across the South West of England - from Gloucestershire to Cornwall (4,500 square miles). He is on air daily from 4-7pm and is known for his warm, witty, contemporary style. You’ll also regularly hear Ben on the wider Heart network at weekends. After honing his craft over 14 years he has gone on to mentor several up-and-coming presenters who have gone on to get roles at Sky Sports, ITV and Channel 5, As well as coaching podcasts such as The Back Pain Podcast, The Little Questions, Explain I.T, Feed My Curiosity and Rewilding the World with Ben Goldsmith.
